Happy Monday, Imagine Family! We want to welcome all 15,000+ students, parents and educators to Money Monday this week.
I’ll get straight to it. I’m here to do 2 things for you:
Give you valuable information to help you find money for college and be smart with your money
Give you tips on how to be the best self as a student, parent or educator you can be
Student Section
High School Students
Stay focused on working hard as this semester gets started. Your grades are a key component of your GPA, and your GPA partially decides which colleges you’ll be accepted to. Staying on top of those grades is so important to your future. Not sure what a GPA is? You can find more information here. You can take matters into your own hands and use a GPA calculator or create your own using a spreadsheet. Here is an example.
College Students
This week, I want to encourage all college students to fill out your FAFSA. Statistics show that over 90% of students make very costly mistakes when filling it out. Here is a guide to filling it out and we have many other helpful resources to help you in the process. Lastly, don’t forget that you can appeal your financial aid package if you aren’t pleased with the results.
Parent Corner
Parents, as you guide your student through the higher education landscape, one crucial aspect to consider is the support colleges offer for career development. A well-resourced career center can make a significant difference in your child’s transition from student to professional. These centers often provide comprehensive services, including resume building workshops, internship placement assistance, and access to a robust alumni network for mentorship and job opportunities. Encouraging your student to take full advantage of these resources early can lay a solid foundation for their future career success.
Educator’s Edge
This week in education, there are two main focuses.
It’s so important that our students get those FAFSAs filled out.
Many universities are reinstating the SAT/ACT requirements as part of their application process. It’s important to know which schools have reinstated these requirements and to help your students decide what is the best option for them when it comes to reporting test scores.
