This is the first year since 1999 that I don’t have a child starting their first day of school. Bittersweet, right? But here’s the joy: I still get to walk alongside thousands of students (and the parents and educators who support them) as they begin a brand new school year.
It’s hard to believe this picture was only a few short years ago when I dropped my youngest off at Texas A&M.
