Money Monday: Finding the Perfect Roommate & Winning $250! 🎉🏡
💰 This Week’s Theme: The Right Roommate Can Make or Break Your College Experience!
Finding a great roommate is like finding the perfect duet partner—get the right one, and life is harmonious. Get the wrong one… and it’s a bad remix of a disaster. 🎶😬
This week, we’re diving into how to find a great roommate, what to look for, and how YOU can win $250 by telling us about your dream roommate!
Oh, and Swifties, we’ve got something fun for you too! Ever wondered how Taylor Swift lyrics can help you navigate scholarships and college applications?
🎤 Check out our latest blog post for a Love Story twist on applying for free money!
💡 Words of Wisdom
"Success is not about luck. It’s about preparation meeting opportunity." – Zendaya
Whether it’s finding the right roommate, applying for scholarships, or planning for college, your future is in your hands. The more prepared you are, the more opportunities will come your way! 🚀
🎉 Who’s Your Perfect Roommate? – $250 Scholarship Contest!
What if you could pick the perfect roommate?
✨ Would it be Belle from Beauty and the Beast, always ready for late-night study sessions with a library full of books?
✨ Maybe Spider-Man, so you never have to worry about reaching the top shelf?
✨ Or even Albert Einstein, keeping your math homework in check?
In 500 words or less, tell us who your dream roommate would be—a Disney character, a historical figure, a fictional favorite, or even someone from the future—and why they would be the ultimate roomie.
💰 One lucky winner will receive $250!
🛏 What Makes a Great Roommate?
Moving in with someone? Whether it's a dorm, apartment, or even your first place post-college, finding a good roommate is key! Here’s what to look for:
✔️ Respectful of space & boundaries (No one wants their leftover pizza stolen 🍕)
✔️ Good communicator (Passive-aggressive Post-It notes = 🚩)
✔️ Similar sleep & study habits (A night owl & an early bird = disaster)
✔️ Financially responsible (Bills should be shared, not ignored 🙃)
✔ ️ Clean…or at least not a tornado of mess (We all have our limits!)
💡 Pro Tip: Before agreeing to live together, ask questions! Do they have a pet peeve? How do they handle conflict? What’s their idea of “clean”?! (You’d be surprised how different that answer can be. 😳)
Where to find roommates: Facebook and Instagram have groups for the year you’ll graduate and the college you are attending. These groups are often available for both parents and students. In addition, I recommend Roomsurf and I’ve known several students who found their roommates this way.
